Part 1

Part 1 Steve: Now I have an opportunity to speak with Toni, and I'm not entirely sure what Toni does, so I'll ask her. Toni, what do you do here at BCAA?

Toni: I am the Assistant Manager for the Auto Travel Services Department. They also do the TripTiks that Maninder was speaking about earlier.

Steve: So as the Assistant Manager, what is the range of services that your group here provides for the members?

Toni: Mainly, it is the TripTiks that our MTCs-Member Travel Counselors-in the offices make up for our members, and then we follow through with the request, and then our member has a North American route plan. Also, I assist my boss, Gina, who is not here today, to make promotions and take our Member Travel Counselors on trips to familiarize themselves with destinations.

Steve: So when you say "Member Travel Counselors," those are the people who work in the BCAA travel agencies. They're the ones who deal with the public. So those lucky people get to go on the trips that you plan out here, so that they are familiar with what's there, so that they can better advise the traveling public, the members who come in looking for services.

Toni: That is correct.

Steve: So, now for someone-for you, for example, working here, have you yourself gone on some of these trips?

Toni: Yes, I have. I've gone to Las Vegas, Whistler, California, and just areas around British Columbia.

Steve: And what was your favorite trip?

Toni: The California trip.

Steve: Where did you go in California?

Toni: It was-we flew to San Francisco, then drove down the Oregon Coast to Los Angeles, and went to Disneyland and Universal Studios, and then flew back home.

Steve: Now, of course, you didn't drive down the Oregon coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Toni: Yes, we did, we drove.

Steve: You drove, but that's not the Oregon coast.

Toni: Oh, sorry. No, the California coast. Sorry.

Steve: Okay, no no. But the Oregon coast is another area that's very popular with tourists. Where does that start and end?

Toni: That starts at the northern part of Oregon in Astoria, Oregon, and then ends around-I think it's about Florence, Oregon. Maybe a little bit more south of Florence, Oregon.
